This project was part of the design of a 1.6 million square foot, 12-story medical facility in Baltimore City.
Our scope of services consisted of the structural design of miscellaneous structural steel elements. Engineering tasks included the design of roof top platforms for equipment and access, handrail design, vanity and telephone counter top supports, and the support of matriculating booms.
The matriculating booms required accurate calculations. The support could not permit rotation of sensitive boom in any direction more than 1%. Prototype was designed, constructed, and passed load testing, becoming the basis of design.
