Albrecht Engineering, Inc. provided structural engineering design services for several new process support buildings, which included a solids handling building, blower building, RAS/WAS pump station, and primary clarifier odor control building. Because of poor site soils, each structure was supported on a deep foundation system composed of structural concrete slabs and micropyle. Construction materials included: open web steel joists, precast concrete hollow-core planks, masonry walls, steel, and reinforced concrete. Structural engineering services were also provided for modifications to several existing buildings, which included the support of new roof openings and monorails.
Structural analysis was primarily performed using the three-dimensional finite element analysis software program, STAAD.Pro, in addition to the structural analysis software program, TEDDS.
Construction Administrative service included review of shop drawing submittals and response to Contractor’s requests for information.
